Fabrication
Facilities at Northwestern offer both the ability for a user to be trained on the use of equipment, as well as request fabrication services when you are unable to attain it on your own. Training may also be available through courses or projects within fabrication facilities.
Training
Student machine shops offer a wide variety of training sessions or modules to learn to use a specific process, or piece of equipment. This individual category covers training outside of that offered in courses.
Service Facilities
Certain facilities offer fabrication services to either students or faculty for curriculum or research projects. These facilities may be separate or integrated with student use facilities.
Courses
Various courses offer training within fabrication facilities required for certain projects or activities. These courses require enrollment to partake in the given training modules.
Software
The use of software is typically one of the first steps in designing a prototype for manufacturing. Various software resources are available through Northwestern, or by outside sources, which may help you on your path to prototyping.
